How this works
- Commission is set to zero on the categories Meesho runs at zero, so the number you see is honest rather than optimistic.
- Shipping is the main cost on a Meesho order, charged on the next half kilo above your packed weight, and it rises with distance.
- The fixed fee is added per order and moves with the price band.
- GST at eighteen percent applies to the shipping and fixed fee Meesho charges you.
- Returns are the number that decides whether Meesho works for you. The allowance covers forward shipping, return shipping and the fixed fee on every order that comes back.
- One percent TCS is deducted on your net sale value and claimed back when you file.
Questions sellers ask
If Meesho takes zero commission, where does my money go?
Shipping and returns. On a low priced order, shipping alone can be a quarter of the selling price, and a return costs you the parcel going out and coming back plus the fixed fee. Set the return rate honestly on this page and the answer usually stops being a mystery.
What return rate is realistic on Meesho?
Fashion commonly runs between twenty and thirty five percent once RTO is counted, and it can be higher on size dependent products at low price points. The default here is twenty two percent. If your own numbers are lower, use yours, but do not assume ten percent because the category average is not close to that.
Why does my low priced product lose money at a high return rate?
Because the cost of a return barely changes with the price of the product. A four hundred rupee dress and a fourteen hundred rupee dress cost roughly the same to send out and take back. That is why cheap products need a lower return rate to survive, and why raising the price sometimes fixes the problem faster than cutting costs.
Should I price higher on Meesho to cover returns?
Often yes, but there is a limit, because Meesho buyers are price sensitive and a higher price can cut conversion faster than it protects margin. Use this calculator to find the price where the product survives your actual return rate, then decide whether that price is one the category will actually pay.
Does this cover Meesho ads?
Yes, as a percentage of sales. The default is deliberately lower than the Amazon and Flipkart pages because ad spend as a share of revenue tends to run lighter on Meesho, but enter your own figure if you know it.
